Whoa, big promises! But first things first:
Why am I writing a blog, and why isn’t it about proofreading?
Good question, intelligent reader!
I love my work, I really do. But I don’t think I could keep up writing about it for a longer period of time. There are other people who are already doing it so well, like Caitlin Pyle.
Plus, the whole point of my job as a proofreader is so you don't have to worry about grammar!
What I really want to write about are all the things you can do to make your life exciting, easier, and overall better. That sounds kinda lofty, I know. But hear me out! There are so many things that make up our lives, so many things that I am excited about sharing with you, that a proofreading blog just wouldn’t do it. I want to write about the big, life-changing things like traveling the world and trying to make it as a freelancer (so I can be in charge of my time and travel the world ;-) ), but also the mundane things like how to improve your day-to-day life and be the happiest, healthiest you you can be.

I think that we often forget to add adventure to our lives. I am certainly guilty of that as well, but it's never too late to start again! And adventure doesn't have to be a month backpacking through Europe. You can invite it into your own home, or you can create it an hour away from your house. There are so many ways you can have excitement in your life. I am hoping that this blog will serve as a reminder to cherish what’s around you and to take chances. It is so easy to become stagnant, when you could be making memories that will last you a lifetime.
I am assuming that you are a lot like me. You want to be healthy, accomplished, and above all -- happy. This is surprisingly hard to accomplish nowadays. Too many things are pulling us in different directions; too many things distract us from what’s important.
I am very much still in training (like I always will be), but I have done a lot of trial and error and actually learned quite a lot from it. I have lived in five different countries, and traveled to so many more. I have worked hard on bettering myself, and sometimes I have worked hard on just making it through the day. Along with all my amazing memories I also have a lot of really bad ones. But bad experiences make you better, if you let them.
I believe that things happen for a reason. Usually it doesn’t seem that way while it’s happening, and sometimes it takes years before you can make sense of it and see the good things that came out of it -- but you are where you are for a reason.

Some might call it a scattered vision -- I call it life. Life consists of a lot of different parts, both big and small. Life is going on adventures and swimming with piranhas in the Amazon River (I guess they were quite well fed, since I’m still in one piece), but it’s also curling up on the couch for a Netflix marathon. It’s finding your passion, it's making mistakes, and it’s laughing with friends playing board games. It’s dancing to a live band, it’s heartbreak, and it’s doing things you’re scared of.
I want to write about all of these things, because they are all important. They all make you you.
You are where you are for a reason. Which means that you are here for a reason.
And I am so glad that you are. :-)
